About the dead pixel test

Fill the display with one solid color at a time and look for dots that remain dark, bright, or a different color.

Inspect white, black, red, green, blue, and gray fields by eye; fullscreen hides the controls, and the automatic cycle changes color every three seconds. Clean the display and compare a suspicious spot in another app. This visual test does not repair pixels.

Dead pixel test FAQ

How do I inspect my screen?

Choose a color and scan the screen slowly. Enter fullscreen for an unobstructed color field, then press Escape to return to the controls. The automatic cycle changes colors every three seconds.

Which colors help find dead or stuck pixels?

Compare white, black, red, green, blue, and gray screens. A dot that stays different may be easier to see against one color than another; this is visual inspection, not automatic diagnosis.

How do I use the pixel test in fullscreen?

Select Enter fullscreen to expand the inspection area. Press Escape to return to the controls, or use the same colors in the regular view.
